Since Brian started working at SRP way back in 2001 and Maddy was just a teeny baby, we've tried to make it to the various holiday events they hold at the PERA club. SRP is a great, family-oriented company and they always go all-out at their events! The annual Easter Egg hunt is one of my favorites. The kids don't really hunt for eggs - the hundreds of eggs are just strewn out on this huge grassy area and the kids just have a free-for-all. They separate it by age groups to help keep the chaos down, but that doesn't help much. There are always a ton of kids and adults acting like nuts! I mean some parents get whacko - it was so entertaining as we were lining up, to listen the Adults strategizing on what direction they would go, etc. to get their kids the most eggs! The egg hunts were successful for all of our kids, even with all the competition from the crazies - I mean successful because no one cried and they got some tootsie-rolls! That made them happy for while! The event also consists of little carnival games, face-painting, balloon animals, pictures with the Easter Bunny (who Lilly at almost age 5 still hides from), a petting zoo, and some yummy food for sale. I love to get the green-chili Indian taco! It is so good that several times a year I actually crave it! Good thing the kids REALLY wanted to go to the Easter egg hunt or I wouldn't have gotten my fix! Ha! I think Brian has had his fill of the annual Easter egg hunt but I just keep thinking that pretty soon our little ones won't be able to do this sort of stuff and they won't want to go. I will continue to go until they say they're done! We might have to leave dad at home next time, although he also digs the Indian tacos, so maybe the food itself will keep him going back!
