Maddy and Lilly are currently taking cheer classes and are loving it! I didn't get a pic last week from Maddy's class, but this one is of Lilly. She is so into it and loves practicing her jumps, kicks, cheers and dances at home. It brings back such fun memories of when I cheered back in the day.
Ally started running a fever last Tuesday night before bed and then woke up in the middle of the night shaking and was burning up. I put her straight into the bath and that seemed to help a bit. She then started throwing up and was just so sick. She was so out-of-it on Wed. morning, so I called her pediatrician and because of her history and with having the Vesicoureteral reflux she wanted us to come in ASAP. Having a high fever is one of the signs of a UTI and like we found out last year when Ally was so ill and was hospitalized, she dehydrates quickly after having throwing up so much. Well Ally proceeded to throw up several times on the way to the appointment and then several times again on me and the floor of the sick kids waiting room at the Dr.s office. It was HORRIBLE! Well we finally saw the Dr. and she wanted to get a urine sample. I am so glad that Ally could give her own sample and not have to have a catheter like last year when she was so sick. Anyway they tested her urine and the Dr. looked her over and wanted us to go straight to the ER. She was already so dehydrated and the pediatrician didn't want to risk her getting any worse. So off I went to Banner Desert to their children's ER. We got in really quickly and were seen by the Dr. He was concerned but didn't want to do an IV if he didn't have too, so he gave Ally some anti-nausea medicine (the same kind they give women for Morning Sickness) and she kept that down. Then they sent us back out in the waiting room to wait and see how she did. They brought her a Popsicle to eat and she kept that down, so they had us wait a while longer and they gave her some Apple Juice. Well at the time I didn't think much about it, but a little while after she drank the juice she had to go to the bathroom. Well we were out in the waiting room and there is only 1 bathroom for EVERYONE - she had to go so bad. That is when I thought about how stupid I was for giving her the Apple Juice - it always gives my kids problems and it def. wasn't a good idea for Ally after she had already been so sick. Well we were finally discharged and they gave us a Rx for some more of the anti-nausea meds. to use as needed. The discharge nurse also said, try to get her to drink pedialyte, Gatorade, etc, but no apple juice. What? Then why did the other nurses give that to her. Silly, huh? I thought that when we left the hospital that Ally would be OK, but about 15 minutes into our ride home she threw up in the car again! UGH....It was so not a fun day. She threw up a few more times but then just ran a fever all the way until late on Friday night. Even though she felt so bad, she was such a good girl. She wanted lots of hugs and extra cuddles which was fine with me. I didn't get a lot done with her being so sick, but I just wanted her to feel comfort and get better. On Friday, her Grandma and Papa were babysitting and she woke up completely soaked from sweat after a 3 hour long nap, so the fever had finally really broken! She is still not back to her normal self, but she did good over the weekend and is doing much much better! I now know this poor child is at risk (for whatever reason) of dehydrating really quickly. I hope that she doesn't get sick again for a long time. We do have some extra medicine on hand now, so at the first sign of her throwing up I now know what to do to try to prevent dehydration.
This is a pic of her curled up in the chair fast asleep. I couldn't resist snapping a quick pic. Anyone with a busy 2 year old knows that unless they are sick they don't usually fall asleep just anywhere!
OK, so on to the next thing - on Friday Brian and I went to the wedding of a guy that works for Brian. It was at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale. We had a fun time - good food and lots of dancing. We were able to hang out with some of Brian's co-workers and their wives. Thankfully Brian's parents were here to watch the girls for us, especially since Ally had been so sick and they all had a blast.
The new Mr. and Mrs. (A beautiful couple, a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day)!
OK, so now on to Saturday. We were able to head up to Prescott Valley for our niece Clara's 1st birthday party. I'm so glad we could go. The ride up was eventful as Lilly (who is known for getting car sick) got sick several times on the way up. Luckily we had her bowl (gross, I know, but seriously, as parents this is REAL LIFE)! She hates getting sick - we hate her getting sick - it just really isn't all that pleasant. We have tried different things to help her out but nothing really works. The best thing is just for her to sleep, which she did the whole way home, thankfully! The party was fun though and we were able to see most of Brian's family and we got to see our favorite lady, Amanda as well. When she came in the door, Ally said, "MOM, look there is your cousin". She really is a distant cousin, but my girls are so funny, they think that we are related to EVERYONE. I still can't believe that Clara is 1. It seems like we were just up in Prescott holding her at the hospital. She is such a sweet little girl and was so fun at her party. My, SIL, made the cutest teddy bear cake for her! I feel bad that we had to eat it after all of her hard work! So, all in all the day was fun! I was sad that we had to come home but we had to get back to watch our neighbor's dog, Princess and we needed to get back to church on Sunday. So, 5 hours in the car plus 5 hours at the birthday party equaled "1" very exhausted family when we got home!

And I was getting a visual of Lilly with her bowl on all the car trips. Oh my gosh Tayva! There is NEVER a dull moment with three kiddos-is there? LOL
