Tuesday, May 19th was the last day of school for the kindergartners at PTES. It was a bittersweet day for me and I think for Lilly too. She had a few tears getting ready for school the last day. She told me that she was going to miss seeing her friends and her teacher, Mrs. Marshall. I really did understand her sadness. Lilly had a tremendous first year in school and it was kind of sad to have it end. She had a phenomenal teacher who truly went above and beyond in all that she did.
She had an amazing class with such great friends, who really pushed each other in an encouraging, non-competitive kind of way.
I hope we can see some of them over the Summer and we'll anxiously await the class assignment for next year. Hopefully Lilly will have some of her friends in her class again next year. I am just so proud of Lilly and her excitement for learning and drive to want to succeed and to always go the extra degree, as her teacher called it.
I hope that her excitement and enthusiasm will continue throughout her school years. They did not have a formal graduation ceremony but they did have a class celebration and received a big packet of fun stuff from the teacher and a whole lot of yummy goodies to eat!
The last day of school was packed full of fun. Lilly decided a while back that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her big sis, Maddy, and get her ears pierced the last day of kindergarten. So, after the exciting school party we headed off to the mall for Lilly to get her ears pierced. We went to Claires and had to wait a while. They only had one lady working and she was busy.
When it was Lilly's turn, the lady had to do one ear at a time. Lilly was so excited but after the first ear, she got some tears and it was a bit scared for the next ear. The tears didn't last long and she was so happy to see her ears with her new bling in them!
After our mall trip we headed home for a quick change of clothes and got ready for the girls to attend their last night of cheer. They both recieved perfect attendance awards and were able to get a new colored pom (which is like a different belt color in Karate). They also performed a cheer and a dance with their classes for the parents.
We didn't get home and in bed til late that night. It truly was a fun-filled day. Lilly was definitely on cloud 9!
