The Itsy Bitsy Spider ?

So, I found this creature trying to get in through the back sliding door. I totally freaked out when I saw it. In the almost 4 years that we have lived here, I have never seen a Tarantula, so I wasn't expecting it at all! I had just opened the door to go out back and it was right there. It ended up staying right there in that little nitch by the door til Brian got home and luckily his fear of spiders isn't as great as mine and he was able to catch it in a bucket and take it back to the desert. It was a bit comical watching him try to catch it (of course I looked on safely through the glass). Those things can jump high! I was pretty disgusted by the whole thing though especially since we found another one just 2 days later, but luckily it was already dead! I have a love/hate relationship with the desert and its creatures! Also, the whole ordeal was hard on Ally. She watched Brian catch it and take it away but it still made an impact. That night she woke up at about midnight and was crying for me. I went in to get her out of her crib and she was shaking and she told me, "mom, I'm scared, I don't like spiders". Poor thing was having a nightmare about that stupid spider! As far as I know, that was the first nightmare she has ever had! I felt so bad for her. I was able to calm her down but I just ended up taking her back to our bed for the rest of the night! I hope I never see another one of these things at my doorstep...
