Happy Halloween 2008

So, this year the girls ALL picked their own costumes! Lucky for me, both Maddy's and Lilly's came straight from our big ol "dress-up" box which includes lots of goodies that were passed down to me from my sister Velvet. She has 2 girls that are now 11 and 8 and they've had their share of Halloween costumes, some that my mom had even hand-made. The Cinderella dress that Maddy wore was one of my mom's creations! Ally has been obsessed with spiders ever since we had the Tarantula on our patio a while ago! She told us about a month ago that she wanted to be a spider! So, she was a spider, a very spooky spider indeed! ;)

I love holidays - all of them! I love Halloween - not because I like all the witches, ghosts, and goblins! I don't even like to watch scary movies anymore! I'm scared enough of real-world stuff that I don't need any extra spooky stuff added to my thoughts as I lay in bed at night! I do love pumpkins! I love the color orange! I love the little Halloween "T's" my girls want to wear all month long! I love all the fall festivals - chili dinners - costume parties, etc. I love that Halloween usually means the temps will be dropping here in AZ (although this year it is still too hot)! I love the whole process of the hunt for the perfect costume, even if it means I have to use my not so good sewing/crafting skills to put something together! I love the time we spend together as a family - carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating, making treats for our friends! I also love that we are closer to the other holidays I love so much - Thanksgiving and Christmas!
